Sanitary Valves for Data Centers
Overview:
Sanitary valves are precision-engineered components that regulate, isolate, and control coolant flow within high-purity liquid-cooling systems. Designed to meet CFIA and Open Compute Project (OCP) standards, these valves combine superior cleanliness, corrosion resistance, and mechanical durability—making them essential for mission-critical data-center thermal-management infrastructure. Constructed from polished stainless steel and equipped with smooth, crevice-free internal surfaces, sanitary valves ensure zero-leak performance and maintain coolant purity in systems where uptime and contamination control are paramount.
Key Technical Advantages:
CFIA-Compliant Sanitary Construction: Fully drainable, crevice-free design supports clean-in-place (CIP) and sterilize-in-place (SIP) maintenance.
Corrosion-Resistant Materials: Typically 304 or 316L stainless steel with FDA/CFIA-approved elastomer or PTFE seals.
Low Internal Dead Volume: Precision machining minimizes fluid stagnation, reducing particulate buildup and biofilm risk.
Valve Configurations: Available in ball, butterfly, diaphragm, or check-valve styles for isolation, throttling, or backflow prevention.
Operating Range: Suitable for –40 °C to +200 °C (–40 °F to +392 °F) and pressures up to 20 bar (290 psi), depending on design.
Tool-Free Maintenance: Clamp or sanitary flange connections allow rapid service and reconfiguration.
Coolant Compatibility: Designed for glycol-water, dielectric, and deionized coolant chemistries used in modern cooling loops.
Data-Center Application Focus:
In liquid-cooled data centers, sanitary valves are key to reliable fluid management across coolant distribution units (CDUs), rack manifolds, and direct-to-chip cooling circuits. Their crevice-free, CFIA-compliant design ensures coolant purity and leak-free performance even under thermal cycling and high flow demand. Butterfly and ball configurations provide fast actuation for flow control, while check and diaphragm valves prevent cross-contamination and maintain system integrity. The combination of corrosion-resistant materials, precision sealing, and tool-free serviceability makes sanitary valves a vital component for maintaining uptime, safety, and contamination-free operation in OCP-compliant liquid-cooling systems.
